Frieba is a typical German SME company. With a workforce of 25 employees, the company which is still in family ownership stands out among others with its particularly close ties to its staff, customers and location.
The company was founded in 1919 by Carl Friedrich. Starting operations in Wuppertal-Barmen, later in the district of Elberfeld – today's registered address –, the company worked as a textile, yarn and leather operating firm to produce among others shoe laces and semifinished products for the shoe industry.
The brand name FRIEBA was formed from the initials of the company name Friedrich and the first location Barmen and has been synonymous with discerning quality ever since.
During the course of the company's history, the focus of its production activities has shifted to articles for the clothing and printing industry. Today FRIEBA manufactures a large number of products used in many different areas. The company continues to produce in Germany where it has a wealth of know-how, using top quality materials and a flexible, customer-oriented production process, in contrast to many low-wage products coming from Eastern Europe and the Far East.
